The Old Penola Cemetery is situated to the north of the town and is rarely used and is used primarily by the elder pioneer families of the district. The main cemetery is to the south of the town. The original transcription has been compared with the South Australian Deaths Registration 1842 to 1915 and some corrections made where there are significant differences in dates and age at death.
